Meet Coach Crawford, MBA

RUTGERS & BRENAU UNIVERSITY GRADUATE

I started playing football and basketball in Hampton, Virginia at the age of seven. At this young age, I began to develop my athletic abilities while playing with some of America’s best athletes, such as Michael Vick, Allen Iverson, Aaron Brooks, just to name a few. By the age of 10, I was bigger than most of my peers and had developed a die-hard passion for the game of football and basketball.By the age of 12, I was playing AAU basketball and traveling all over the nation, winning state championships and going to Nationals which allowed me to enhance my talents by playing against the best players in the country. I was awarded Most Outstanding Rebounder of the Year for two consecutive years on my basketball team.  In high school, my coach and I received interest letters from 10 different Division 1 college football programs including Penn State University, West Virginia University, University of Maryland, Wake Forest University, Ohio University, Temple University and Rutgers University.I continued to shine on the football field my freshman and sophomore year as a starter on the team and earned first team all-district my junior and senior year, as well as grabbed All Metro honors my senior year.  I was also mentioned as one of the top 100 players in the country.  One of my biggest accomplishments is my record of 28 tackles in a single game against undefeated L.C Bird High School in the district championship game that has not been broken. As I improved my agility, speed, and strength in the post-graduate program I continued to attract new colleges such as Boston College, University of Texas, University of Tennessee, and Youngstown State University. I knew that Rutgers University would allow me to play early in the Big East program against powerhouses such as the University of Miami and Virginia Tech.  I accepted a full scholarship from Rutgers University and earned three (3) letters as well as a two (2) year starter for the Scarlet Knights.

You can motivate by fear, and you can motivate by reward. But both those methods are only temporary. The only lasting thing is self-motivation.” —Homer Rice
